My name is Alba Villacampa and I have always felt a special attraction to the world of plants and gardens. I studied agricultural technical engineering at the University of La Laguna, in Tenerife, and specialized in what I am passionate about through the Master’s in Gardening and Landscaping at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
The family construction business was my first job and little by little I entered the world of landscaping, collaborating with different engineering and architecture studios on urban landscaping projects. I have participated in highly enriching sustainable gardening projects, improving neighborhoods and streets in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
I enjoy English gardens and am enthusiastic about the gardening tradition in England. Having several friends in that country allowed me to visit famous festivals such as the Chelsea Flower Show or the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, a unique opportunity to enjoy the art of gardening and see high-level designs. These experiences and contacts have led me to collaborate online with garden design companies located in England.
In 2023 I had the opportunity to participate in the Allariz International Garden Festival led by Izasi Zunzunegui and Cica Paisaje with our project “In search of the lost landscape”, a journey through the 5 continents through vegetation. We carefully chose the plant palette with not only aesthetic criteria since the species also had to represent each continent, adapt to the climate of Allaríz, and be found in nearby nurseries.
