Sustainable Park Piedra Hincada, Guía de Isora – Estudio Funcionall

Drafting of the Gardening annex for the project of the “Sustainable Park Piedra Hincada, Guía de Isora” by Estudio Funciónll. At 200 meters above sea level and located between greenhouses, an urban area and the Barranco de la Rabona is the plot landscaped with endemic species typical of the area and thermophilous forests.
The upper, more urban area is the entrance to the park and is conceived as a very ornamental aspect, with successive blooms and foliage that contrast with each other. The rest of the park shows a more natural aspect with many Tabaibas and fewer flowering plants.
The slopes are treated with high-density planting and basaltic stone rockeries that help to contain the soil.
A wetland is planned that will attract birds and reptiles, improving the biodiversity of the area. A small waterfall and an island will be a resting place for some birds. The planting of marsh species creates a magnificent habitat for breeding, resting and sheltering birds. The fruits of the bushes planned around the lagoon, such as Leña buena or Balo, will serve as food for endemic lizards and in turn for some birds of prey.
